Specialist online accounting for passenger transport

Do you drive your own car for Uber, Bolt or FreeNow and need a partner who understands the specifics of passenger transport? Our accounting for drivers covers settling VAT on passenger transport, the commissions charged by the platforms, leasing or depreciation of the car, fuel with limited deductions and the handling of a cash register or an app with an online register. We also watch over deadlines and calculate the forms of taxation on your figures, so that your settlements are simple and secure.

This is an accounting firm for Uber and Bolt drivers, staffed by experienced accountants rather than an app that leaves you alone with the forms. We keep online accounting, you send platform reports and documents through the Client panel, and we post payouts after commission deductions, settle taxi VAT (a reduced-rate VAT lump sum or the general rules may apply; we will calculate both and you decide) and the PIT (personal income tax) lump sum for passenger transport at the appropriate rate. Everything is designed for a driver who wants to drive rather than count taxes.

Who is this accounting service for?

Uber, Bolt and FreeNow app drivers

People driving for transport platforms who need to settle payouts, commissions and app reports on an ongoing basis.

Licensed taxi drivers

Taxi drivers with a passenger-transport licence, operating a cash register or an app with an online register and settling VAT on their rides.

Drivers starting out and fleet operators

People setting up a business in passenger transport and fleet partners who operate several vehicles and drivers.

What does accounting for a driver cover?

Settling payouts and platform commissions

We post the income and payouts from Uber, Bolt and FreeNow based on reports, taking into account the commissions charged by the platforms.

VAT on passenger transport

We settle taxi VAT: a reduced-rate VAT lump sum for taxis or the general rules may apply. We will calculate both on your figures and show you the numbers - the decision is yours.

Cash register and app with an online register

We help meet the obligation to record sales using a cash register or an app with an online register, as required in passenger transport.

Leasing, depreciation and fuel

We settle car leasing or depreciation, running costs and fuel, taking into account the deduction limits for a vehicle also used privately.

Licence and carrier obligations

We put in order the documentation for a passenger-transport licence and the formal requirements, so you run your business in line with the regulations.

Taxes, ZUS and deadlines

We watch over the PIT (personal income tax) lump sum for passenger transport, VAT returns, JPK files and ZUS (social security) contributions, so you do not worry about deadlines between rides.

Why do drivers choose Luno-Group?

You get a regular, experienced accountant who knows the realities of life behind the wheel: how to settle commissions from Uber and Bolt, VAT on passenger transport, car leasing and the cash register, and who will warn you before a problem arises. We work fully online (PL / EN), you send platform reports and documents through the Client panel, and we compare the forms of taxation on your figures and show you the numbers - the decision is yours. This is an accounting firm for drivers where you have ongoing contact with a specific person, not a call centre.

Frequently asked questions

Before you entrust us with your settlements.

As an Uber or Bolt driver, do I have to be VAT-registered?+

Not always. Passenger transport is not on the list of exclusions in Article 113(13) of the VAT Act (the services named there are legal, advisory, jewellery and debt collection), so a driver may use the personal exemption up to PLN 240,000 of sales per year. From the very first ride, however, you must record sales on a cash register, and working with a foreign platform adds registration for VAT-UE and settlement of the import of services on the commission - also when you use the exemption. If you do settle VAT, you run passenger transport under the general rules or under the reduced-rate VAT lump sum for taxis. When you sign up, we will check your situation and show you which of these obligations apply to you.

How do you settle payouts and platform commissions?+

We post income based on reports from Uber, Bolt or FreeNow, taking into account the commissions charged by the platforms and the amounts actually paid to your account. This way your income and costs are settled correctly, and you have a clear picture of how much you really earn from the rides.

Do I need a cash register in passenger transport?+

Yes, from the very first ride and with no turnover threshold. The carriage of passengers by car, including by taxi, is listed among the sales to which the cash register exemptions do not apply (Section 4(1)(2) of the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of 17 December 2024), so you need a cash register or an app with an online register that meets the requirements for taxis. We will explain the solutions available for your way of working and help you complete the formalities.

Can I settle under the PIT lump sum?+

Passenger transport has a set lump-sum rate on revenue, which we will match to your business. We will also calculate how the general rules and the flat tax compare. Once we know your situation, we will compare the forms of taxation against how and how much you drive.

Can I settle car leasing and fuel?+

Yes. We settle car leasing or depreciation as well as fuel and running costs. For a vehicle also used privately, the deduction of VAT and costs may be limited, which is why we will show you how to keep the documentation so the vehicle is settled correctly and safely from a tax perspective.

Do you keep the accounting fully online?+

Yes, we are an online accounting firm. You send platform reports and documents by scan or photo through the Client panel (you get access after signing the contract), and we take care of the bookkeeping and settlements. You have ongoing contact with an experienced accountant and service in Polish and English, with no need to visit the office.
